BIO

Lydia Mbevi holds a Masters Degree in Gender and Development from Kenya’s Nairobi University. She has worked on market systems, humanitarian assistance and economic development projects for over 18 years ensuring that vulnerable and at-risk populations benefit from various investments. Lydia has designed award-winning proposals for women’s economic empowerment and developed strategies to mainstream gender in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. She has responded to Africa’s booming youth population by designing and delivering training and programs that promote positive youth development and employment/job creation. Lydia is best known for her passion in ensuring that families have mutual respect for each other’s contribution, and that women are rewarded for their efforts.
